'Our World in Photos' is an innovative community project developed by Curtin University, School of Population Health and One Arm Point Remote Community School (RCS). The project applies photovoice methodology and other supporting visual methodologies through a strengths-based and trauma informed lens.
As children build skills in photography and visual literacy as a tool for self expression, they explore themes of well-being and social connectedness. An in-depth and novel approach to analysing their 'photographic insights' led way to the development of new co-created learning resources. These resources aim to embed a rights-based approach to art within the school curriculum, using the visual as a vehicle for self-expression at the intersection of children's health and education.
